Owner and head trainer Rustico “Rusty” Radona Jr. brings to the table 29 years of experience as a law enforcement officer with a Hawaii agency, including working as an officer and canine handler for the tactical division of the agency for 20 years.
He is certified as a canine trainer through Indiana’s Vohne Liche Kennels of the TV show Alpha Dogs. Rusty’s canine and tactical assignments and experience include:
- Missing persons and suspect searches
- Dignitary protection and corresponding canine sweeps for explosives
- Evidence , article search
- Basic and advance e-collar training
- K9 Decoy (controlled aggression / bite work) training
- Canine evaluator and purchase consultant
- Tracking: scent discrimination and air scenting
- Narcotics and explosives detection
- Obedience and agility
Since Rusty’s retirement, he has offered his consulting and training services to the private sector, government and military agencies that benefit from his expertise in explosives and narcotics detection, patrol(search, controlled aggression), and K9 handler coaching. Rusty is also a K9 Nose Work® judge through the National Association of Canine Scent Work, and has judged levels 1 and 2 scent work trials on Oahu.
Most of all, Rusty just loves dogs and is looking for any excuse to play with them. He looks forward to helping you maximize your relationship between you and your dog!
